Barbara started her fashion career at the very early age of twelve after her mother presented her with a birthday gift of a home sewing machine. From that moment on, she decided to dedicate her life to the world of fashion. She later went on to become one of America’s foremost clothing designers.
Barbara later met her husband Ken Gerwit who was a clothing salesman. They both decided to invest their last five hundred dollars to become clothing manufactures in the year 1976. The gamble paid off and they went on to become one of America’s top brands in the resort industry. This truly was the beginning of the American dream for them.
She has reached her goal in presenting this new and exciting high end quality resort collection at very affordable prices. Her line of elegant resort wear is currently being sold in many of the finest stores in the United States and all throughout Europe such as C’Orrico in Palm Beach, Florida, and Joanne’s in Houston, Texas.
