MASTEKA II offers Superyacht Charters in New Caledonia with French Flair

MASTEKA II at Ils des Pins

MASTEKA II is offering leading international superyacht charters with a distinct French influence in the tropical waters of New Caledonia.

M/Y MASTEKA II is the first Foreign Flagged superyacht to be granted a commercial charter permit in New Caledonia.   The yacht was launched in 2009 and has recently undergone a significant refit before heading to New Caledonia to host guests heralding the start of her charter licence.

New Caledonia is in the heart of the South Pacific merely a two and half hour flight from Sydney and, as a former French colony, it imbues the best of its former governing country.  To celebrate and launch her inaugural season, Ocean Alliance, as representatives of the yacht and its Owner, recently hosted journalists and superyacht charter brokers onboard.

“Noumea is so close to the east coast of Australia and New Zealand yet only two of our guests had ever been.  They were truly astounded at the natural and completely unpolluted environment as well as how ‘French’ the destination is,” explained Ocean Alliance’s Managing Director, Joachim Howard.

Guests were met at the main port and capital city of Noumea before experience a slice of the world’s largest lagoon which is UNESCO World Heritage listed.  The Caledonian lagoon is encased by 1500 kilometres of the Barrier Reef, second only in size to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.  The islands of New Caledonia have the richest and greatest biodiversity per square kilometre than anywhere else in the world.

“New Caledonia is an absolute charter paradise. The water and islands are breathtaking, the people welcoming, the food wonderful. It’s a delicious blend of French and Melanesian culture and the professional crew onboard MASTEKA II conveyed that ease and warmth of island living,” said superyacht charter broker, Jeni Tidmarsh.

The chef onboard MASTEKA II indulged the guests with fresh tropical produce prepared with the rigor of French cuisine.  “New Caledonia is a food paradise.  Not only can we source some amazing, juicy tropical fruit and fresh fish but it has everything you would find in the vineyards, boulangeries, charcuteries, patisseries and chocolatiers of mainland France,” said MASTEKA II’s chef.

“I have spent a great deal of time enjoying the French talent for hospitality, so to find such an impeccable standard of service and cuisine so close to Australia’s shores was a true delight.  We were treated to some exceptional dining experiences at Complexe Chateau Royal and then on board.  After adventuring in the gorgeous bays and islets of the South Pacific, there is nothing quite like biting into a fresh macaron baked to perfection by an expert pastry chef. Our every need was predicted. This is how luxury is done,” said Brittany Cooper, representative of Ocean Media.

New Caledonia is the latest in a series of the South Pacific nations which have opened up to international superyachts looking to charter.  Already a region which is a perennial favourite of yacht owners and charterers, Ocean Alliance expects MASTEKA II and New Caledonia to be extremely popular.

“We expect MASTEKA II will experience strong interest as she is the only international superyacht yacht who can offer this exciting new destination for charter clientele.  Not to mention that within three hours of boarding a plane in Sydney, you can be on the back deck of the yacht in New Caledonia enjoying the best of French Rosé,” offered Mr Howard.

MASTEKA II will return to New Caledonia in May 2018.  She is 37 metres in length with accommodation for 12 guests in five suites.   Additionally, MASTEKA II is offered with a 34-foot Boston Whaler to accompany her during charters in New Caledonia. Perfectly compliementing the vessel for diving and fishing expeditions.
