Silversea’s Silver Whisper will be the first cruise ship to visit all seven continents on its pioneering World Cruise 2020
Silversea, an innovator in the ultra-luxury cruise line industry, announces the opening of general sales for its pioneering 140-day, 62-port, 32-country World Cruise in 2020. Departing Fort Lauderdale on January 6, 2020, Silver Whisper will be the first ship to visit all seven continents – including the remote, picturesque landscape of Antarctica – on a world cruise.
Unique in the richness and range of its itinerary, the World Cruise 2020 will include long stays and overnights in many of the world’s most fascinating capital cities and spectacular natural wonders – each of which has been selected for its authentic beauty. A first in the history of cruising, Silversea’s World Cruise 2020 will pass through both the Northern and Southern Fjords, enabling travel enthusiasts to witness and explore some of the world’s greatest marvels.
In total, there will be 40 new destinations from the 2018 and 2019 Silversea World Cruise itineraries, yet the most remarkable voyage stops will feature once more. A combination of destination expertise, cruising experience, and a commitment to enabling guests to travel deeper has resulted in a truly groundbreaking World Cruise itinerary for 2020. Throughout the voyage, Silversea’s Expedition team will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise, enabling guests to experience destinations with profundity.
From Florida, Silver Whisper will bear southeast, passing through the Caribbean and along the northern shores of South America, stopping at a selection of captivating destinations. Rounding Cape Branco, Silver Whisper will set course for the Antarctica Peninsula, where guests will be able to enjoy guided tours on Zodiac boats. From Antarctica, the World Cruise 2020 will transport guests around Cape Horn, through the Chilean Fjords, and towards French Polynesia, where a number of enchanting islands await, including Papeete, Bora Bora, and Vanuatu. Sydney, Melbourne, and the Southern coast of Australia precede Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Mumbai, among others. Next, the World Cruise will journey between Mumbai and Rome, navigating the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, stopping at various locations of immense beauty. Following the coasts of France, Spain and Portugal, Silver Whisper will then head for Dublin, from where she will visit the Norwegian Fjords, before completing her grand finale in northern Europe. Silversea’s groundbreaking World Cruise 2020 will conclude in Amsterdam on May 25.
Defining characteristics of the World Cruise 2020 include an unprecedented selection of onboard events, a tailor-made collection of excursions, and bespoke overland programs that are available to guests. Led by local, knowledgeable, English-speaking tour guides, the planned excursions provide insight into exotic cultures and stunning lands; the innovative overland programs, meanwhile, can be enjoyed before, during, and after the cruise, enabling guests to travel deeper in each destination.
Hailed as ‘Legends of Cruising,’ up to 382 passengers will embark Silver Whisper for the World Cruise 2020. The ship will be the most intimate within the ultra-luxury segment to ever undertake a world cruise, making for a unique, all-inclusive cruising experience.
With the most expensive suites – the Owner’s Suites – offering ultimate comfort for $250,000 per guest, Silversea has curated the most expensive cruise experience ever. Included in the price are round-trip business air travel, $4,000 onboard spending money per suite, unlimited Wi-Fi, an expedition parka, laundry and medical services, and visa packages for guests of select nationalities, among other alluring amenities.
